Einat Wilf
Western Anti-Zionism and Arab Zionism
October 10, 2021, Noon, Eastern Time (US and Canada)
After decades in which Anti-Zionism was a mainstay of the Arab world and at times the defining theme of Arab unity, some in the Arab world are breaking away and embracing Israel as a legitimate, and even indigenous element in the region. This is happening at a time when Anti-Zionism, which seeps into antisemitism, is gripping some parts of the West. This development raises questions about the connection between Western Anti-Zionism and regional Middle Eastern realities.
Dr. Einat Wilf is the co-author of “The War of Return: How Western Indulgence of the Palestinian Dream Has Obstructed the Path to Peace” and a leading intellectual and original thinker on matters of foreign policy, economics, education, Israel and Zionism. She was a member of the Israeli Parliament from 2010-2013, where she served as Chair of the Education Committee and Member of the influential Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. She is considered one of Israel’s most articulate representatives on the international stage.
